U.S. has most confirmed cases globally

The U.S. has surged past China and Italy to record the most confirmed coronavirus cases of any nation globally, according to John Hopkins University stats. There are now at least 82,404 confirmed cases in the U.S., after, The New York Times writes, "missteps and lost opportunities dogged the nation’s response." More than 1,000 Americans have died from ailments related to the virus.

More states updates:-

Health experts are alarmed at the rate at which Louisiana is recording new cases. They believe that Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans may have accelerated the transmission of the virus.
Texas’ governor issued an executive order for visitors from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Orleans to self-quarantine for two weeks. The move aligns the country’s second-biggest state with a White House advisory.

Kentucky is being hailed as an example in dealing with the outbreak. The state declared a state of emergency at the start of March, giving plenty of time for local officials to organize residents, schools and health facilities.

The city of Topeka, Kansas, has no recorded cases of Covid-19. Yet that hasn’t stopped its mayor from putting into place plans that include churches providing meals for kids while schools are closed, and younger residents driving “Meals on Wheels” to older residents in the city.
